Photoshop Notes

Today in class we learn how to use Photoshop as I will need to use this program for my music magazine, at first I find it quite alright because I had used Photoshop before but in general I prefer Photoshop than InDesign.

Notes:

  • ALWAYS select 'International paper' (A4 paper)
  • Ctrl + OR - : Zoom In/ Zoom Out
  • 100% : what it looks like when it’s finish
  • Click on ViewRulers; The edge of the ruler is near the toolbox, hold it and drag it along to the image
  • Layer: Unlock the layer if you want to use it
  • Drag and drop the images – whenever you open an image it’ll open a new tab.
  • Ctrl T (Transform button) – to make it bigger or smaller; must hold the ‘shift’ button while you are trying to stretch the images.
  • If the texts are below the layer – it’ll disappear
  • Double click the layer (text) – if you want to edit the text, i.e. change colours or add shadows
  • Each layer will tell you, you have add layers or effects
  • Use separate textboxes to make the texts has ‘spaces’ – separate textboxes will add layer, so you will be able to decide the sizing and spacing.
  • Save as ‘Photoshop File’ if you want to continue editing it – save as JPEG if you have finish, or else if you haven’t finish and you save it as JPEG it will flatten all the layer, that's mean you won't be able to edit your picture the next time you open it.
